Fiji's head of mission in New Zealand has been told to leave.
The diplomatic game of tit for tat comes after New Zealand's head of mission in Fiji was declared persona non grata.
Foreign Minister Murray McCully says military strongman Frank Bainimarama has shown he is not easy to deal with in the past and our relations with Fiji are having yet another downer. He says the tempestuous leader is challenging to deal with and he has again running true to form.
Mr McCully is advising people travelling to Fiji to check the Foreign Affairs website to see if it is advisable.
