Kiwi blokes steer clear of textbooks

AAP November 5, 2009, 12:52 pm

Kiwi men aren't just less inclined to pick up a mop than women - they're steering clear of textbooks too.

New Zealand blokes have taken a battering in new research showing that fewer are graduating with bachelor degrees.

They're now outnumbered two-to-one by female university graduates who are moving in to dominate traditional male professions like medicine and law.

The figures show just 6,906 men graduated with a degree last year, compared with 12,894 women, and while female numbers are climbing, those for men are dropping off.

The findings come quick on the heels of a British study showing New Zealand men also fall short in helping out with household chores and looking after the children.

It's just lucky another survey rated Kiwi men among the world's best lovers - eighth-placed internationally, well ahead of Germans (too smelly), English (too lazy), Swedish (too quick) and Dutch (too dominating).

And yet men, on average, still receive higher wages than women. The plan seems to be proceeding quite nicely.

Sad. If the only reason for NZ men to feel proud that they are not too smelly, too lazy, too quick or too dominating in bed. Just sad.

So if those Kiwi guys who are good in bed read this article and realise that Uni is full of ladies, and then take up Uni to chase em, then a new article will have to be made saying the figures have once again equaled out haha.

I must have been very lucky; my man was the best gardener, the best fixit man, the best nappy changer, the best mechanic, the best cook, the best dancer, the best wallpaperer and the best lover to boot! Who needs a degree when you've got all that?!?!? Dare I say that I divorced him?

I think they miss that boys can do quite well by getting a trade - whereas nowadays girls need an arts degree just to work in Glassons... ( a bit over stated, but you get what I'm saying)
