The Garden City's helping hands

On February 22, strangers worked side by side to clean up a city in desperate need of a helping hand. Daily tasks became a huge problem as sewerage systems were broken, electricity and phone lines down and houses unlivable. A total of 10,000 tremors and a year later, we salute the endless number of volunteers who helped Christchurch is its greatest time of need.

Try to find a little compassion for others "The" it may be boring for you now because it's not your life being uprooted, one day it could easily be all the rest of us in NZ. I am lucky because I am not in Christchurch, however I understand how hard life must be for all those who remain in the area.

Lies. The local authorities spent more time arresting and threatening those volunteers than actually doing anything helpful.
