Monday, April 9 More than 8,000 people came off benefits last month because they found work. Over 5,000 of them had been on the unemployment benefit. Almost 3,000 were young people who cancelled their benefit after finding a job. There are still more than 53,000 people on the dole, but that's the lowest for the month of March since 2009.
