Police are disappointed with a shuttle company which let a group of 16 people attempt the Tongariro Alpine Crossing in bad weather. The inexperienced group had to be rescued on Saturday, after getting into trouble in cold, windy and wet conditions. Some in the group were wearing shorts and jeans and were in the early stages of hypothermia.
