A doctor has breached the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers' Rights after leaving a woman with seriously debilitating physical and emotional scars. The woman wanted a cosmetic procedure to help achieve a more healthy appearance, according to Newstalk ZB. The doctor recommended a procedure called the 'mid-face volumisation', but used an unapproved filler. It was injected in to the woman's cheeks to "fill deep holes". After two weeks, her face became inflamed, swollen, and lumpy, which could have been granuloma reactions to the dermal filler.
