A study on post-quake tobacco consumption in Canterbury is raising some eyebrows in medical circles. The CDHB study looked at smoking habits of 1,001 Cantabrians, 15 months after the first quake. It's found 24 percent of the respondents who didn't smoke before the first earthquake two years ago, picked up the habit afterwards. Smokefree manager for CDHB, Vivienne Daily says they're surprised the results are so high.
