A 4.2 magnitude earthquake has struck in Christchurch. The shake hit 20km east of Christchurch just after 1:30pm at a depth of seven kilometres. Christchurch Central Police say they felt the quake but have not fielded any public calls. A CERA spokesperson says work in the red zone continues and they would only suspend and close the red zone if a quake measuring over five struck the area.
