Fake Wellywood Sign Meets Fiery End
The controversial Wellywood sign seems to have slipped under the radar, just under two weeks before voting closes.
New Zealanders can make their choice until Friday November 18 - next week - but stories we post don't seem to be that popular with Yahoo! readers.
A story about the alternatives to the Wellywood option received 87 comments, with most expressing concern, disappointment and outrage.
Many just weren't keen on a sign at all.
When we posted the article on Facebook inquiring about voting on the sign, the single comment read "They all suck".
It's the kind of issue most people have an opinion on, but these guys have taken their repsonse to the extreme.
Cue William Plinkerton, a fake news reporter interviewing a Wellington Airport representative in a "news report on local TV yesterday in New Zealand".
The Wellywood sign (not yet constructed) towers in the background apparently built after the Airport held a "secret meeting".
Two hooded figures lurk in the background before the sign suddenly explodes.
