Dictator's missus is a pop singer

On The Radar | View Archive July 19, 2012, 2:52 pm

So it turns out that the bloated dictator of North Korea has something of a lady-friend.

The short-haired, reasonably attractive woman has been photographed accompanying Kim Jung-Un to various public events.

Rodong Sinmun, a North Korean newspaper, recently ran a photo of her without identifying her.

South Korean intelligence, on the other hand, reckon they know who she is.

According to The Daily Telegraph, the woman is Hyon Song Wol who is the singer of the Bochonbo Electronic Music Band. They are apparently quite popular in the impoverished state with a string of hits including the frighteningly titled 'Excellent Horse-Like Lady' (below).

The Telegraph also reported that the pair have known each other for around 10 years, though the Dear Leader - the now deceased Kim-Jong Il - forced them apart. It probably made him quite lonely.

On a slightly more sinister note, there have been no reports as to what happened to either Hyon husband or their baby.

Offered up as a sacrifice to Kim-Il Sung, perhaps? The former NK leader does still run the country...even though he's dead.
