It's True Blood time

Make a date with your telly tonight - it's vampire time!

The second series of hit show True Blood makes a welcome return to the small screen and, as mentioned in a previous blog, I'm keen to check out the on-screen chemistry between Kiwi lass Anna Paquin and her co-star-turned-fiance Stephen Moyer.

While the show's been on a break between seasons the international pair (Steve's a Brit... though they're both playing Americans) has announced their engagement, so it's all eyes on them!

But off-screen dalliances aside, it's a great and refreshing show and with so many questions unanswered at the close of series one, I'm glad the wait is over.

What does the future hold for Sookie and Bill? Who is the mysterious woman being so helpful to Tara? Is Sam still pining for Sookie? Has Jason found God? And, where is Lafayette?

In the first episode, which screens tonight (Wednesday) at 9.30pm on Prime, a shocking murder outside Merlotte's has Bon Temps reeling.

Meanwhile, Sookie's relationship with Bill is tested when she learns about Jessica, and of his involvement in her uncle's death.

Sam recalls a shape-shifting encounter he had with Maryann as a 17-year-old. Jason gets a sudden windfall that allows him to pay for a leadership retreat with the Fellowship of the Sun and two adversaries find themselves sharing a mysterious dungeon and, possibly, the same fate.

True Blood makes for fantastic viewing: lots of suspense and humour. I highly recommend it!

Don't worry, being 'into' vampires absolutely isn't a prerequisite for enjoying this show.
