Are you skeptical of before and after pictures that feature heavily in infomercials?
One man spent five hours proving they can indeed be misleading.
He hasn't gone out to discredit the entire idea, but a video posted by Furios Pete on YouTube proves that in five hours you can achieve the same effect.
He starts the exercise with the 'after' image - bulking up, tanning and using flattering lighting and cooking oil to achieve a bulky look.
He then reverses the process - slobbing out, eating bloating food and drinking soda pop to look the complete opposite.
The results are interesting to compare.

The photos are from different angles and different poses, so can't be compared properly. Even the hair has been dyed. If you drop your head, it usually creates a slumping forward look with tummy pushed out. When you look straight forward, your spline straightens and your chest lifts and flattens your tummy. If you lift your shoulders, it flattens your tummy even more.
1 ReplyHaha excellent clip. Have always doubted infomercials and this clip clearly shows how things can be manipulated so easily. Wonder how many infomercials "after" shots are actually "before" shots???
