Quebec's public security minister says he is shocked by reports that a 14-year-old boy was found dead near a criminal biker club in Quebec's Beauce region.

Citing unnamed sources, Radio-Canada and several other media outlets have reported that the body was discovered outside a known Hells Angels training club in Frampton, Que., on Monday.

The teenager had travelled to the area from Montreal, according to the sources, and was armed with an AK-47-style assault rifle.

Provincial police would not confirm those details to CBC News saying they are waiting for official identification.

But on Thursday, Minister François Bonnardel reacted to the reports on the social media platform X.

"It is disgusting for street gangs to enlist young people, children, to do their dirty work," he wrote.

He added that he was reassured that provincial police will be in Frampton for the next few days and insisted that they are equipped to get to the bottom of the case and protect the public.

The SQ will set up a command post in the area on Friday to talk to residents in the area.
