2 youths arrested after emergency alert issued Monday, RCMP say
New Brunswick RCMP say two youths have been arrested after a "shooting incident" in Salisbury.
The update follows an emergency alert that went out on Monday evening in which RCMP warned residents of southeast New Brunswick about a person with "dangerous intent" carrying a firearm.
Police said at around 7 p.m. on Monday, Caledonia Region RCMP members were dispatched to Main Street in Salisbury, where they located a 48-year-old man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The alert was issued around an hour later while RCMP searched for a person driving a silver Ford F-150 pickup truck who was reportedly carrying a firearm and was last seen in the Salisbury and Moncton region.
Later Monday evening, the RCMP release says two youths were located and arrested on Grub Street in Salisbury in connection with the investigation.
Both youths remain in custody, according to the update issued early Tuesday.
