A $290,200 McLaren was found abandoned on the highway in a bizarre discovery for cops.
The McLaren 600LT was found by authorities in the US following the crash and sit seems the driver had a lucky escape as the car slid under the crash barrier.
Pictures of the mangled luxury vehicle were shared on Twitter by trooper Robert Reyer from Washington State Patrol.
The McLaren's windscreen is completely smashed up and one side of the roof appears to have caved in under the guard rail.
It's unknown what state the driver is in following the crash because they fled the scene and the owner still hasn't been found.
"It was a hit-and-run collision, so unfortunately we have no details as to the condition of the driver," Trooper Reyer said on Twitter.
Speaking to The Oregonian, Trooper John Dattilo said it's not uncommon for a driver to flee the scene following a crash, but this was a bit strange given the value of the car.
“This kind of crash happens all the time, where people don’t want to get in trouble so they leave the car behind,” he said.
“But it’s not necessarily common for it to be a $200,000 ($A290,00) McLaren, though.”
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, KPTV reported.
Earlier this year, two men were lucky to be alive after they wrapped their $150,000 sports car around a pole.
Remarkably, both the 42-year-old driver and his 28-year-old passenger survived and went to hospital with neck and chest pains.
The shocking footage of the crash went viral and people were stunned the men survived.
