6-Months-Pregnant Okla. Woman Is Allegedly Beaten to Death by Abusive Boyfriend

Police in Tulsa, Oklahoma, have filed murder charges against a 22-year-old man accused of killing his pregnant girlfriend and the unborn child she was carrying in a brutal beating Monday morning.

Tulsa Police confirms in a press release that 21-year-old Allyssa Fielding died Tuesday night following the attack, which was allegedly carried out by Colby Wilson.

Police say the young couple lived together.

Information on the sex of the baby was not released. At this point, it’s unclear who fathered the child.

It was around 5 p.m. Monday when Tulsa police received reports of a suicidal man screaming inside an apartment.

The press release states that officers arrived to find Wilson’s mother performing CPR on Fielding, who was unconscious and splayed on the floor, bleeding from the head.

According to police, the couple had had a heated argument — spurred by what, they can’t yet say — in the moments before the fatal incident.

Fielding, who is described in the statement as “about 6 months pregnant,” was rushed by ambulance to the nearest hospital, where doctors discovered the baby’s heart had stopped.

Fielding’s severe injuries included multiple skull fractures and collapsed lungs.

Doctors on Monday declared Fielding brain dead.

Wilson was initially charged with a single count of first-degree murder for the unborn child’s death and one aggravated assault and battery charge for allegedly attacking Fielding.

Those charges were upgraded upon Fielding’s death, and he now faces two counts of first-degree murder.

KOTV reports that Wilson spent a year in jail after being convicted of assaulting Fielding in 2017.

Investigators allege Fielding was Wilson’s hostage, and according to KOTV, his arrest report details how he’d force her to sit in a chair all day, in front of a live-streaming camera, so that he could keep tabs on her.

The station further reports the suspect took steps to ensure Fielding was cut off from her family and friends. Hospital staff allegedly found bruises across her entire body.

PEOPLE was unable to determine if Wilson has an attorney or has appeared in court to plead to the charges he faces.

If convicted, Wilson, who remains in police custody without bond, could be sentenced to death.
