Blunt and Straight

“One of my favorite ways to style chin-length hair is to leave it down and keep it sleek,” says legendary hair stylist Sally Hershberger, famous for her sexy rockstar shag haircuts. “This style is perfect for those that have finer hair who aren’t sure of an easy way to add some edginess to their look.”

To play up the cut’s blunt lines, apply a heat protectant product like Oribe's Royal Blowout Heat Styling Spray, then flat iron your hair in small sections around your head to create a super sharp, pin straight look.

Mega Side Swoop

The trick here to ace this super tousled, sexy hairstyle is to not overdo it with the product, which can weigh hair down and make it look contrived.

“Just use a texture spray and maybe a curling iron if you want to add in more defined texture,” says celebrity hairstylist Andrew Fitzsimons. Et voila.

Curly Fauxhawk

“I love pixie cuts on those with curls because it gives the super-short cut so much volume and bounce,” says Hershberger.

To achieve Jada Pinkett Smith’s lush, curly fauxhawk, scrunch a bit of mousse into the curls at the very top of your head and use a flexible wax — never a stiff formulation — to twist and mold the tendrils into the fauxhawk of your dreams.

'90s Throwback

The 90s are back, baby. Celeb stylist Annagjid “Kee” Taylor drew inspo from some of the decade’s biggest legends: Halle Berry, Toni Braxton, and Monica to create this look for Nafessa Williams.

To create this fun retro look, take a tiny dollop (we’re talking less than a pea size amount) of a styling cream like Afro Sheen's Texture Setting Cream Gel between your fingers and twist into the lower part to create chunky, piecey, side swept bangs.

Sculptural and Sleek

“I love hairstyles that blend traditionally masculine and traditionally feminine inspiration,” says Fitzsimons. Ruby Rose’s funky androgynous chop is the perfect example.

Nail the voluminous, asymmetrical look by generously spritzing your roots with OGX's Moroccan Sea Salt Spray, then tousle to build depth. Afterwards, flip the hair’s top layers to one side to reveal the other side’s angles or undercut.

Messy Bedhead

The wild and wavy bedhead look is God’s gift to laidback people. Work dry shampoo into your roots and lightly spritz texturizing spray on the ends for a totally enviable lived-in look — no washing required.

Half Bun

This effortless swept up half bun is the go-to model off duty style, made popular by celebs like the Hadid sisters.

“I particularly love this look on those with thicker, wavy hair,” says Hershberger. “It gives the bun so much texture and volume, plus it requires no time.”

To get this no-fuss look, begin grabbing hair at your temples, moving to the back of the crown of your head and secure into a bun with your favorite scrunchie or elastic. Gently loosen the bun to give it a lived-in, casual vibe.
