Two dead after US mall shooting

At least three people are dead and seven injured after a shooting at an Oregon shopping mall in the United States.

The three deaths were confirmed by County Police, who have also confirmed that the shooter had been "neutralised".

The County Sheriff's spokesman held a press conference not long ago, describing mall employees hiding in "break rooms and bathrooms" to avoid the shooter, who witnesses say was carrying an AR-15 Assault Rifle, and was wearing a white mask.

The spokesman confirmed that local police officers were nearby to the mall and entered the building as soon as they were on the scene.

Witnesses have told local news stations KGW "It was just shot after shot after shot. It was terrible. It was like a massacre."

The mall is located in the town of Clackamas, around 20km southeast of Portland.

They also report that hundreds have been evacuated from the mall.

Oregon Governor released a statement saying "My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. I appreciate the work of the first responders and their quick reaction to this tragic shooting."
