Helicopter crashes in Auckland

A helicopter has crashed into the Auckland Harbour.

The chopper was seen to go down into the seas in the channel between North Head and Mechanics Bay.

Navy and Coast Guard personnel are responding, with reports of moderate injuries for those on board.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was asked to assist, but isn't involved in the rescue.

The Fire Service is also responding to the crash.

The helicopter was on a test flight, and crashed at around 11.30am.
