A 28-year-old Memphis man has been charged with attacking his 92-year-old girlfriend after she apparently refused to take her medication, according to a police report.

Willie Frances Robinson claimed her toyboy Thomas Standley, who is 64 years her junior, became violently angry, grabbed her roughly by the arm, and tried to choke and shake her.

Mrs Robinson’s daughter, Patricia Haynes, who lives next door, said she heard her mother yell,
“Let go of me, you’re hurting me.”

Mrs Haynes rushed over but was shoved out the door by an irate Standley who got aggressive towards her for interfering, according to US news reports.

She claimed Standley often yelled and swore at her mother.

“He was very, very verbally abusive towards her,” she told WREG News Channel 3.

Despite the recurring abuse, Mrs Robinson had apparently been too afraid to call police because Standley had bullied her into signing over power of attorney to him.

Standley is described as Mrs Robinson’s live-in boyfriend and roommate in an affidavit, although the pensioner's daughter denies a 'romantic relationship'.

Standley was arrested and charged with domestic assault and assault.

He is currently being held at Shelby County Jail and will face a US county court tomorrow.
