Lawless sentencing in February

NZ Newswire November 22, 2012, 9:30 am

Actor Lucy Lawless and seven other Greenpeace protesters will now be sentenced in February next year for boarding an oil exploration ship at Port Taranaki.

The activists have admitted a charge of being unlawfully on a ship after they spent 77 hours on a 53m-high tower they scaled aboard the Noble Discoverer at Port Taranaki in February.

They were protesting Shell's planned exploration for oil in the Arctic.

The eight were due to be sentenced in New Plymouth District Court this week, but it was put off until February because Greenpeace said Shell had not yet provided the required information for its reparation claim of about $700,00.
