Coles brand cereal recall over glass fears
Coles have issued a nationwide product recall over a own-brand breakfast cereal due to fears it may contain glass.
The product is the Coles Brand Right Start Fruit and Fibre 600 g box, with a best before date of July 11 2015, which has been sold in Coles and BI-LO stores throughout Australia.
In a statement, Coles said: "The product is being recalled due to the potential foreign matter - glass. Food products containing glass may cause injury if consumed.
"Coles is working with its supplier to understand how the foreign matter may have been included in the product and will take whatever steps are necessary to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
"Consumers should not eat the product with a Best Before date of 11 July 2015, but return it to their nearest Coles or BI-LO store for a full refund.
"Coles apologises for any inconvenience caused. Customers seeking further information should contact Coles Customer Care on 1800 061 562."
