Man reportedly discovered 'buried alive' in tomb

A man has reportedly been found buried alive in a graveyard in Brazil after allegedly being attacked.

Online reports claim he was found inside a tomb at the Caju Cemetery in the city of Campos dos Goytacazes.

It's believed a family found the man, who is thought to be around 33-year-old, when relatives came to pay their respects to a loved one at the site, according to online reports.

It has been reported the tomb's cover was ajar and the family reportedly found visible bloodstains nearby, before they alerted authorities.

A short video released by CEN shows rescue workers looking in through the cover to the tomb, before revealing the man lying on the ground.

Due to the nature of his injuries, rescue workers reportedly made the assumption that the man had been the victim of an attack, according to The Sun.

The man is reportedly a local, who is in a stable condition.

An attempted murder investigation is now being carried out by police, according to online reports.
