Amanda Owen and Clive have spoken about reuniting for TV and their split ahead of their new show Our Farm Next Door airing on More4 next week.

They are not together romantically anymore but the pair put on a united front as they tackle a new project together while the cameras were rolling for Our Farm Next Door. Exes Amanda and Clive, who said fame ruined their marriage, get to work on renovating a derelict farmhouse known locally as Anty Johns Farm, near Ravenseat Farm, with the help of their nine children: Raven, Reuben, Miles, Edith, Violet, Sidney, Annas, Clementine and Nancy.

The Owen family, who originally found fame on ITV's The Dales in 2011 before they became household names on Channel 5's Our Yorkshire Farm, will be stepping back into the bright lights of the public eye. Our Farm Next Door has been two years in the making after Our Yorkshire Farm came to an end in 2022, the same time they announced their split.

Ahead of next week's return, the Owens have decided to speak about their reunion for TV and their split for the first time recently. Here is what Amanda Owen and Clive have said in recent weeks about reuniting for Our Farm Next Door and their amicable split...

Amanda opened up on her split from Clive saying how they have moved on with their lives and formed a friendship.

She told Lorraine: "We've got a lot of room and a lot of distractions. First and foremost we're farming. It's yet another diversification, we have our fingers in so many pies that it's just unbelievable. There is enough work to go around times a zillion. It's tough trying to spin all the plates but that's why this programme is relatable, that's why we've been so popular with viewers. You don't always get the happy ending you want, but it's how you negotiate it."

Plus, she has said she is "proud" of her friendship with Clive. "I am proud of where we have got to," she told The Mirror of their friendship in a new interview. "Life throws you some funny curve balls, but it's how you overcome them and move forward. It's about building the blocks again."

Down-to-earth in nature, the sheep farmer revealed they don't always agree. She added playfully: "But don't get me wrong, we have our moments and our differences of opinion!"

Asked about who was in charge of the project, she added to the publication: "That depends on who is up at the property. I don't know if it is a blessing or a curse but there is no connectivity around there, you have to walk to get to it because the track up to it is so bad."

When announcing the new TV project in recent weeks, The Yorkshire Shepherdess Amanda had said the show gave the exes a chance to show how well they worked as a team in the most challenging of weather conditions.

She said: "It is fantastic More4 have given us the opportunity to showcase what we do best, working as a team and battling the elements whilst trying to reinstate the farm next door to its former glory. It is no exaggeration to say that filming outdoors on an exposed hill end in Swaledale was at times a huge challenge for the Wise Owl film crew, but their dedication and enthusiasm has never waned. This new project has been a huge undertaking for the whole family and one we are excited to be able to share with the viewers at home.”

As Amanda and Clive made the joint announcement that they were coming back to our screens, they both had the chance to share an insight into their co-parenting and working relationship. It's clear they both agree they work well together as a team which is hardly surprising as they raise nine children and have worked on a farm together for many years before their split.

Clive wrote in The Daily Mail: "We still work together and look after the kids, so we’ll always be in each other’s lives. Amanda and I get on really well now. We’ve been restoring an old farmhouse together, which has been great for us as a family."

Also, Clive took the opportunity to praise Amanda for being the best mother to their nine children. He added: "Amanda is the greatest mother ever and the kids love her to bits."

While they are not romantically a couple, Amanda said they would always be a family and she said their split had been amicable.

She wrote in The Daily Mail: "This kind of relationship – where parents work together and ‘get on’ but are separated – is not so unusual nowadays. So we’re proud to share our new reality (in every sense of the word) on our next family TV adventure."

The shepherdess suggested fame was one of the reasons for the breakdown of their 22-year marriage and by Clive's own admission he said he was "jealous" of his wife's success, where she was making more money talking and writing about farming than they were actually doing it.

It was back in the Covid pandemic in 2020 when they drifted apart and decided to amicably split. The pair then lived in separate houses that were within walking distance so the children were able to visit whom they pleased.

Two years on from the split, we will see how the whole family take on the exciting renovation together in Our Farm Next Door.
