If you tuned in to CNN's New Year's Eve Live broadcast last year, you may have noticed that the show was drier than normal. And no, we're not talking about a lack of jokes or rain. Unlike previous years, last year's broadcast didn't have a drop of alcohol.

Instead of the occasional sip of booze or a shot here and there, hosts Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper were forced to keep themselves (and viewers) entertained with mere pickle juice.

This time around though, Andy Cohen is fighting back against CNN's ban on booze. While speaking with E! News over the weekend, the Watch What Happens Live host personally asked that CNN reverse their New Year's Eve alcohol ban.

"I haven't heard anything yet, but come on, they need to let us drink. It's New Year's Eve,” Cohen told E! News, according to People. "That didn't go well last year in terms of viewer happiness about us drinking. People really cared and I hope CNN gives the people what they want. Give the daddies some juice."

Nearly one year ago it was reported that CNN would be cutting down on on-air drinking. CNN chairman and CEO Chris Licht revealed that the decision was made to maintain CNN's "respectability" amongst viewers.

The decision was immediately met with backlash on social media, with some fans declaring that seeing hosts drunk was the best part of the show.
