Anne Hathaway's Fluffy Lashes Are Thanks to a Mascara I'm Obsessed With

It transforms my stumpy lashes in just three swipes.
Westman Atelier
Gucci Westman has the type of storied career that makes people want to get into the beauty industry to begin with. The celebrity makeup artist’s current clients include Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Aniston, though she’s worked with pretty much anyone you can think of. Not only was she at one time the artistic director of Lancôme, but she’s created iconic looks for brands on the runway and in campaigns. (She’s even had a cameo in the Sex and the City movie.) Westman herself exudes the type of laissez-faire chicness that has inspired a generation of no-makeup makeup aesthetics and perfectly undone sensibility.
Her clean beauty brand Westman Atelier is what you hope for from someone with her pedigree. The products are easy to use — possibly even foolproof. They’re natural and subtle, yet noticeably enhancing. There’s too much good to say and it's why the brand has a fanbase that includes celebrities like Jennifer Garner and Michelle Pfeiffer in addition to beauty editors (myself included) and thousands of shoppers. And today, the brand launched its new Eye Want You Mascara, which Westman has been using on Anne Hathaway. I’ve been testing the formula for two weeks, too, and can confidently say it’s done wonders for my lashes.

$45
Westman Atelier has an existing mascara, Eye Love You, but I would venture to say that this new one is a step above, all while costing $13 less. The new Eye Want You Mascara is all about versatility. The wand has a slight hourglass curve to it, and the bristles are short on one side and longer on the other. Westman tells InStyle that this “allows you to really get close to the root and you can use a swivel motion to lift the lash.” “It’s wonderful to use because you can either create a perfect every day, defined, beautifully lengthened lash or you can easily add more volume,” Westman says. On her celebrity clients, Westman likes to use it to “really focus on getting defined lashes and create a beautiful, open, fresh-looking eye. If I want to spice it up, I can easily add another coat.”

Before and after using Eye Want You Mascara. After using the bright red tube of Eye Want You Mascara myself, I can confirm that Westman is right. When I use this tube, I can get really close to the lash line, and depositing pigment and volume that close to the base makes my lashes look fuller. And despite having the dexterity of someone who had their hands replaced with anvils, it is impossible to clump up my lashes with this. After three coats, I have the full and fluttery lashes of a camel and not the three spidery hairs of Yzma.
It’s an impressive mascara that has a permanent place in my makeup collection alongside Westman Atelier’s Complexion Drops and Liquid Illuminator. Head to Westman Atelier to shop the new Eye Want You Mascara that’s worthy enough to fluff up Hathaway’s lashes.
