The $270 wedding dress brides can’t get enough of

Between snap lockdowns, border closures and venue restrictions, pulling off a wedding in 2021 isn't going to be as straightforward as brides would have hoped.

But even if COVID cancellations have left you with a smaller budget than you would have liked, there are still plenty of designer-inspired dresses around to ensure you get your picture perfect moment without breaking the bank.

For less than $300, this ASOS wedding gown has Aussie brides enchanted and it’s not hard to see why.

With an easy, Byron-Bay style elegance about it, the Sophia wedding dress has delicate lace sleeves and an open back to make you feel like a bohemian goddess.

The lace detailing continues over the sweetheart neckline and cinched-in waist, before giving way to a flowy, pleated skirt.

Brides who bought the dress recommend getting it professionally altered for the perfect fit, with one saying, “I bought this dress for our civil wedding and loved it! It needed a bit of amendment as the top was a bit loose”.

“The dress is just gorgeous, I am tall and it actually fits me lengthwise and it is really comfortable,” another bride wrote.

The ivory gown is the most popular of the ASOS Wedding Edit and retails at $270, but it isn’t the only bargain to be had.

With an embroidered bodice and pleated skirt, their $190 Ayla gown looks a lot like the dress Bindi Irwin wore when she wed Chandler Powell back in March last year.

Meanwhile the detail on the $390 embroidered & embellished fishtail wedding dress is perfect for a Great Gatsby style affair, whereas the classic simplicity of the $190 Rosanna gown makes it ideal for a beach wedding.

At one point during lockdown last year, ASOS were selling one wedding dress every three minutes, but they aren't the only online retailer selling wedding gowns on a budget.

Aussie label Showpo also have an affordable range of wedding dresses which includes their jaw-dropping Eyes of the Beholder gown which has a plunging neckline and thigh-high split, as well as the dress Showpo founder Jane Lu wore to her own wedding back in 2019.
