The second set mimicked the first set and was played at an unbelievable speed, before Tsitsipas broke Medvedev for the first time to make it 4-5.

This sparked a furious reaction from Medvedev at the change of ends as he blasted the umpire.

In a furious rant, Medvedev accused Tsitsipas of receiving coaching from his player's box.

“Are you mad? Are you mad? His father can coach every point?” Medvedev spat at the umpire.

“Are you stupid? His father can talk every point? His father can talk every point? Answer my question. Will you answer my question? Can his father talk every point?”

At one stage a furious Medvedev screamed at the umpire: "Look at me, I'm talking to you!"

Medvedev was handed a violation for his outburst, but was clearly rattled afterwards when he lost the second set.

Daniil Medvedev's Australian Open antics

Medvedev has caused a stir at this year's Australian Open after numerous run-ins with the crowd.

After his quarter-final match, Medvedev said he took some inspiration for his comeback from Novak Djokovic when he was staring down the barrel of a quarter-final exit.

In his post-match speech with Jim Courier, Medvedev was asked about what was going through his mind having comeback from what appeared to be oblivion.

Medvedev pre-warned the Australian Open crowd: "I don't know if people will like it," before explaining his mentality as "What would Novak do?"

The cheeky moment had the Rod Laver Arena crowd both laughing and pantomime booing.

Earlier in the tournament, Medvedev was booed after having a go at the crowd for their antics during his match against Aussie Nick Kyrgios.
