Aussie stars frock up and rock up for Melbourne Cup launch

It may be weather that calls more for a rain hat than a delicate fascinator, but that hasn’t stopped some of Australia’s shiniest stars from stepping out for the launch of Sydney’s Melbourne Cup Carnival this year, decked out in their trackside best.

The 2020 Melbourne Cup Carnival Sydney Launch may have looked dicey a few months back while Sydney struggled in the throes of community transmission of COVID-19, but the event went ahead today.

Held at the prestigious Vaucluse House, celebrities from breakfast TV royalty, to pop stars posed up a storm in their best spring wear.

Delta Goodrem made a bright appearance clad in eye-popping Fendi orange with a bright blue jacket keeping the city chill at bay.

Complete with an electric blue fascinator, the songstress and The Voice coach looked as bright as the springtime racing season demands.

The Project’s Lisa Wilkinson kept it as autumnal as the weather this dreary week, opting for a vibrant red animal print frock complete with a black beret come fascinator.

New mum Jasmine Stefanovic was pretty in pink in a double-breasted power suit in palest pink.

Tying the look up was an oversized white bow with a subtle amount of netting.

A contingent from the remaining Studio Ten team were also in attendance, with newsreader Narelda Jacobs looking very chic in a pale blue number offset by a dazzling headpiece, while new host Tristan MacManus kept it similarly cool with an open-necked shirt and dark grey morning suit.
