Aussie tourist told to leave America after slamming US patriotism
The Australian tourist travelling in the US said there are too many American flags and asked for people there to be more 'humble'.
A young Australian woman visiting the US has been told to leave the country by a state politician after complaining there are "too many American flags" hanging around.
TikTok user Mia Chloe made the comments in a video reportedly shared on social media last week after noticing the abundance of flags during her travels. But her remarks ruffled a few American feathers.
"I'm just going to say it. There are too many American flags," she begins in the 43-second clip which has since been re-shared on Twitter. Her own social media accounts appear to be deleted entirely.
"They're on houses. They're on cars. Some are on couch cushions," she said. "You're the only country that I know that does this".
She went on to say whoever is making the flags "would be making a bloody fortune" and claims she had only ever seen an Australian flag on the Harbour Bridge in Sydney.
"Could not tell you what it looks like," she said of the iconic Aussie flag. "I know it's blue and it's got some stars on it but I think I could draw the American flag from memory."
She ended the video by requesting US citizens "pull back on" flashing the flag. "Let's stay humble," she said.

US governor responds to video: 'Go Back to Australia'
The video caught the attention of Texas Governor Greg Abbott who retweeted a post from a "conservative patriot" account on Twitter. "Go back to Australia," the Republican tweeted on Tuesday alongside a string of American flag emojis.
Other patriots agreed it was a "weird thing to say". "You're a guest, be nice," said one North American man. "Wait till she visits Texas and sees all our flags," joked another. While another quipped, "get lost, lady".
It's not known if Mia has responded to the backlash since her social accounts appear to have been deleted. It's also unknown where in the US she was visiting at the time she recorded the video.
According to Fox News, other videos show her complaining about American supermarkets. She also claimed Kansas, a Midwestern state, is "unliveable" because of the weather.
