Young fan's unforgettable Djokovic moment

A young boy at the Australian Open has become a cult hero after upstaging 12-time grand slam champion Novak Djokovic on Sunday.

Djokovic gave the lucky young fan a moment he'll never forget after organising a practice hit with the boy on one of the outside courts at Melbourne Park.

The six-time Australian Open champion struck form to advance to the fourth round of the Australian Open, looking in excellent touch during a straight-sets routing of Spain's Albert Ramos-Vinolas on Saturday.

But the Serb met an unexpected match on his day off, in the form of the incredibly talented youngster.

With a healthy crowd in attendance, 'The Joker' engaged in a gentle hit back and forth over the net with the small boy, who clearly knew what he was doing.

Djokovic then stepped things up a bit by moving towards the baseline and picking up the speed and intensity of his shots.

Remarkably, the young lad wasn't fazed in the slightest and managed to return everything the Serb hit his way.

Before long, cheers rang out from the crowd every time one of them hit the ball over the net, with each successful shot accompanied by a progressively louder roar.

Then, as Djokovic sent a drop shot just a few metres onto the boy's side of the court the unthinkable happened.

Showing a turn of foot that even the pacy Serb would be proud of, the young lad chased down the shot and belted it back before claiming the point with an emphatic forehand smash off Djokovic's return.

A raucous cheer went up from the crowd as the boy revelled in his 15 seconds of fame and some of the best bragging rights a casual sportsman could hope to get.
