RACHELLE AKUFFO: Relief at the pump today. Gas prices dipping below $4.00 a gallon for more and more Americans. Well, joining us with more on this is Yahoo Finance's own reporter Dani Romero. Good to see you, Dani. So what are we watching?

DANI ROMERO: Yeah, good news for drivers nationwide. According to GasBuddy, the national average fell below $4.00 today. And that's been for the first time since March, that average sits around $3.99 per gallon, down from the record that we saw that was over $5.00 in June.

Now, that does differ from the AAA data, which shows that the national average sits at $4.03 as of today. But like I said, a big relief for drivers, including myself. I'm in southern California for the week. And I filled up my gas tank just yesterday and it was a little over $60. Yes, California still has those high gas prices.

The average right now in California is $5.04. But other states, like Texas, are really seeing that sharp decline following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. But experts have said that, that $3.99 mark per gallon for gas is right on par. Back to you.
