Bake Off fans are outraged by this week's elimination
The Great British Bake Off delivered quite a shock last night (October 17) when it was announced that Manon had been eliminated from the series.
While the contestant didn't exactly have the best episode ever in Danish Week – especially when Paul said that her Rye Bread was more French than Danish – many viewers thought Rahul should have been given the chop.
Yes Rahul, who has been the breakout star of the series, managed to have a mare of a week, with all three challenges proving... well, challenging for him.
Along with a soggy bottom in the Signature, he managed to produce a burnt Æbleskiver in the Technical and an overbaked Kagemand in the Showstopper.
Yet despite all this, it was announced that Manon was going home, and many viewers are calling out the judges for the decision, arguing that Rahul should have gone home (with strong language and all):
As much as I adore Rahul, everything he made was burnt and Manon should not of gone👎🏻 #BakeOff

Were Paul and Prue high on grass when they chose who was going home? Manon clearly did better than Rahul smh🤦♀️ #BakeOff

*Controversial tweet alert* but Rahul was BY FAR the worst baker this week. Fairly obvious Paul was gunning for Manon though. Definitely the wrong person gone this week #bakeoff #GBBO

Are you fucking kidding me?! #BakeOff Manon should NOT have been sent home and you know it. Raul has a nightmare week.

#BakeOff what a load of bollocks. Rahul literally came last in two of three challenges and they send manon home what a joke of a show.

Nah that’s not fair man, we all know Rahul did so much worse this week #BakeOff

Afterwards, Manon said a tearful goodbye to viewers, reflecting: "I've learnt so much. I'm a stronger baker. Hopefully a stronger person."
We’re so sad to goodbye to Manon, a brilliant baker throughout the competition. Perhaps not the biggest fan of Denmark right now. #GBBO pic.twitter.com/sMI3GgrKNh

This wasn't the only emotional moment of the episode, however, as Kim-Joy tried to hold back tears after some criticism from Paul.
However, it wasn't all tears of sadness as Ruby managed to step up to the plate after last week's disaster and bag Star Baker for the first time.
The Great British Bake Off airs on Channel 4.
