It's safe to say that Billie Eilish is a tour de force, a runaway train of greatness and an all-round icon, so it's no surprise that she absolutely cleaned up at the 2020 Grammy's earlier this year. But, apparently, it was a bit of a surprise to Billie herself, who this week explained why she was caught mouthing "Please don't be me," before her name was announced as the winner of Best Album at the prestigious award ceremony.

During an an video interview for The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon Billie and Finneas were asked about their impressive wins at the Grammys (the pair collected 11 between them), and Fallon questioned Billie on the moment when the camera caught her whispering "Please don't be me" seconds before she was awarded the Best Album accolade.

"I loved when they cut to you Billie," Fallon said. "I think it was right before you won album of the year… and you were mouthing 'please don’t be me'… and I think I know why you were doing it - it's not like we’re best friends or anything but I feel like, knowing you, you’re going like, 'I'm good, I had a good night and I’m good, let’s end this now'. Is that what you were thinking?"

"You know, I was very overwhelmed," Billie explained. "But only in a way of 'it's so amazing I can't believe it,' … How can you feel like you deserve that kind of thing?

"But I will say the the next day we were over here and Alicia Keys called me and she wanted to congratulate me and she basically said on the phone - which is something that I hold so dear to me, 'cos you know, she won a billion Grammys when she was young - and she called my and she was like, 'I just wanted to say, don’t be embarrassed for being dope'.

Alicia Keys is totally, 100% correct.
