Boy, 6, and girl, 4, found dead with father in suspected murder-suicide
The bodies of two young children and their father have been found in a Perth home following a tragic incident police believe may be a murder-suicide.
The three bodies found dead at a home on a quiet street in southeast Perth on Friday night, after a family member called triple-0.
Assistant WA Police Commissioner Allan Adams confirmed to reporters on Saturday the grisly scene authorities arrived at in the suburb of Huntingdale at about 6.35pm was the likely result of a murder-suicide.
A 6-year-old boy and his sister, 4, were the victims. A 40-year-old man was also found dead at the home.
"Nothing prepares you for this," Commissioner Adams said.
Commissioner Adams told reporters the bodies of the children were found inside, while their father was discovered in a garage at the rear of the house.
In a statement Saturday, WA Police said investigations into the circumstances surrounding the deaths are ongoing.
The cause of death will be "thoroughly" investigated, as will the circumstances surrounding the deaths, though Commissioner Adams warned this would take some time.
Commissioner Adams said the investigation is being led by the major crimes division, with the homicide squad and district detectives supporting.

"A large police presence including detectives and forensic officers will remain at the scene," WA Police said.
"WA Police will continue to provide support and assistance to the family, friends and first-responders affected by this tragic incident."
One neighbour told The West Australian it is usually a quiet street with no trouble while another neighbour said there was usually no issues on Essington Street.
Another neighbour, Samantha Pate, said she was shocked to hear about the tragedy.
"I’ve never really heard of any issues," Ms Pate told the paper.
"We know our neighbours, we say hello to them."
