A 35-year-old Brazilian singer has died after being electrocuted during a performance in Salinopolis, northern Brazil.

The artist, identified as Ayres Sasaki, was performing at the Solar Hotel on July 13 when the incident occurred.

Reports suggest that the fatal electrocution happened when Sasaki came into contact with a cable, either while embracing a wet fan or whilst playing his guitar.

The exact circumstances are still under investigation by local authorities.

A spokesperson for the Solar Hotel said: "We have been entirely dedicated to supporting [his] family and taking care of the necessary arrangements."

Sasaki worked as an architect while pursuing his music dream and is survived by his wife Mariana.

His Instagram page was flooded with tributes after news of his passing.

One message read: "May you rest in peace. Gone way too soon. So tragic. Sending love and prayers to his family and friends."

Another fan added: "Your music will live on. God bless. Peace and love always."
