More than a proposal, it's a life long promise

A newly engaged woman has admitted she “forced” her future husband to melt down the engagement ring he used to propose.

Taking to Facebook, the woman shared an image of the ring, explaining the thought behind it was sweet, but she would not wear it “for the rest of my life”.

“I love my future husband but I forced him to melt this down and turn it into not-a-dog-paw,” she wrote.

“Who in their right mind would want to walk around with a dog paw on their hand???”

She goes on to clarify that they do actually have a “fur baby” that makes them act like “those people”.

“But I draw the line at dog-themed jewellery I’m expected to wear every day of my life.”

Plenty of people agreed that while the thought was nice, they too wouldn’t want an engagement ring to honour their puppies.

“He tried...he failed horribly... but he did try to be sentimental,” one person commented. “But no bulls***. That ring is hideous and I’d ask for a different setting too.”

“Yeah I am one of those legitimate psychos that spends all their free time at dog shows and if my husband gave me this I would divorce him,” a fellow dog lover said.

Others wondered how the husband had reacted when she’d told him.

“It’s a cute ring but definitely not for an engagement. Was he upset you asked to change it?” one asked.

“Like you said, this is a ring you have to wear every day for the rest of your life. It needs to be something you like,” another added.
