Bride shocked by mother-in-law's wedding day plan: 'Sick'
A shocking exchange between a bride-to-be and her future mother-in-law has gone viral on social media, after it came out she was planning on wearing her own wedding dress to her son's big day.
The text message exchange, in which the future bride offered to help her fiancé's mother "find a similar dress that fits our planned colours instead", was so outrageous it went from being shared on Facebook, where the bride asked for advice on what to do, to featuring on Imgur, before also going viral on Reddit.
In the text exchange the bride asked about the dress: "Could I see it? I'm sure it's stunning on you!"
"You have already seen it," comes the response. "Did I not show you my wedding album last weekend."
She then sends through a photo of a bridal gown - her old wedding dress - laid out on the floor.
"I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude or anything but you're planning on wearing your wedding dress to our wedding? We could help you find a similar one that fits our planned colours instead," the bride asks.
But then out of nowhere, the MIL unleashes: "Do not play these games with me you skank. It is MY sons wedding and I am paying for over half of it.

"I will wear whatever f***ing dress I please and if you have something to say about it... well, good luck to your family because Lord knows they are too poor to afford it seeing as I am already paying for more than half.
"Don't you dare even think about trying to ruin this moment for me. You know the rest of my children will not get married in my life time and this is the only wedding of my children that I will be a part of."
The bride was understandably "at an absolute loss for words", and though she initially wasn't sure if she should tell her fiancé, subsequent updates revealed he was also shocked, saying: "That is not my mother that is a demon in her skin".
He says he will talk to his mother, and after playing phone tag he ends up sending her his fiancee's worried Facebook post asking: "What is actually wrong with you?"
"How can you talk to XXX like that? What you said to her was HORRIBLE I literally cannot believe you did that."
But while we don't she his mother's response to him, the bride ends up revealing the message she received instead after her partner confronted her.
"How dare you do you have no respect?" the furious mother-in-law wrote, calling her out for "making our family look like horrible people to the Facebook".
The Reddit user who shared the post called her the "worst MIL I’ve ever seen. Wicked Witch of the Wedding" and most people certainly agreed, with one even calling the exchange "sick".
"I think if my MIL called me a skank I’d be declining to contact her ever again," one person commented.
"Every guest will be there looking at the MIL and wondering wtf is wrong with her... It still sucks, but I feel like it just outs the wearer as psycho to all her friends and family," another wrote.
"I mean, my mom wouldn’t be coming to my wedding if she called my wife a skank," one person pointed out.
