The family of an eight-year-old cancer sufferer believe she was spat on by a group of teenagers because her head was shaved.
The girl and her family were leaving the Thorpe Park theme park in Chertsey, Surrey, when four boys aged around 17 began spitting on them from overhead.
CCTV footage captured the group and police hope that witnesses, or friends and family who recognise the gang, will come forward.
A spokesman from Surrey Police told Yahoo News UK: "The parents were concerned that their eight-year-old daughter had been deliberately targeted because she has a shaved head due to cancer treatment."
The force is appealing for witnesses to the assault which took place on Sunday 6 June.
A police appeal issued on Friday said: "Between 6pm and 7pm, a family of four were passing the information desk on the water slides by The Dome on their way out of the park. As they walked out, a group of four teenage boys waiting in line on the staircase for a water slide started spitting at them.
"The four suspects are described as 17-year-old boys, all around five foot, eight inches tall.
"The boy who spat on the informant's daughter was described as Mediterranean, with curly black brown hair and wearing a black t-shirt.
