Cate Blanchett's upcoming psychological thriller Disclaimer is teasing lots of drama.

The Apple TV+ limited series starring Blanchett 55, and Kevin Kline, 76, is full of high-tension moments and surprises, as seen in a new teaser trailer released Wednesday, Aug. 7 — which also shows off the artistic style of it's director Alfonso Cuarón.

In the teaser, several moments from the limited series are briefly shown as Blanchett can be heard telling the audience, “Beware of narrative and form. Their power can bring us closer to the truth.”

Scenes including a closeup of Blanchett at a dinner and Kline standing off in the distance as it rains flash on screen between the bold white letters of the word “Disclaimer.” Additional clips shown include Sasha Baron Cohen running frantically through a corridor, Louis Patridge watching a woman undress, Blanchett almost getting run over by a car and Kodi Smit-McPhee punching a wall.

“But because of our own deeply held beliefs and the judgments that we make, they can also be a weapon with a great power to manipulate. Ladies and gentleman, be aware,” Blanchett could be heard saying as the final scene showed a man and a woman holding hands as they stood in an ocean while waves crashed into them.

Two teaser posters were also released showing Blanchett and Kline staring intently into the camera within an asterisk sign over a white background.

The seven part limited series — which is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Renée Knight and written and directed by Cuarón — spotlights acclaimed journalist Catherine Ravenscroft (played by Blanchett) who has “built her reputation revealing the misdeeds and transgressions of others,” according to a synopsis.

However, when she “receives a novel from an unknown author, she is horrified to realize she is now the main character in a story that exposes her darkest secrets,” and thus “races to uncover the writer’s true identity.”
