Channel 10 star's brutal swipe at Lisa Wilkinson after Logies speech
Former Channel 10 weatherman Tim Bailey has taken aim at The Project's Lisa Wilkinson in a brutal tweet after her Logies speech led to the trial of the man accused of raping Brittany Higgins being delayed.
Following Lisa's speech while accepting the award for Most Outstanding News Coverage or Public Affairs Report at the Logies for her 2021 interview with Brittany, lawyers for Bruce Lehrmann, who is accused of rape, succeeded in a second bid to temporarily delay his trial.
Following her speech and the news it delayed the trial, the veteran journalist was savaged by the former weatherman, who has since doubled down on his outrage towards Lisa.
"Just accept ya F—ing little trophy and F off!" Tim said in the foul-mouthed tweet.
It came after he deleted another tweet attacking Lisa on Tuesday night, which said: "Hey Lisa, pull ya head in. I know this might be difficult, because it is a very big head. But please try."
Other TV presenters have joined the pile-on, including news anchor Sandra Sully and Sunrise host Natalie Barr.
"You know, we have our own lawyers, we often consult them before we put a story to air, would this have been the case where Channel 10's lawyers should have stepped in and lawyered this speech?" Nat said on-air.

Sandra also liked a tweet from entertainment reporter Peter Ford slamming Lisa following her Logies mistake.
"Such serious consequences from Lisa Wilkinson ... if only she'd stuck to silly stories like the paparazzi who stalked her in Chapel St," he wrote.

Bruce Lehrmann was due to stand trial on June 27 for a charge of sexual intercourse without consent, however, a temporary stay was granted on Tuesday after comments by Lisa reignited publicity surrounding the case.
Defence barrister Steve Whybrow pushed for the trial to begin at the start of 2023, telling the ACT Supreme Court the fallout from Lisa's Logies speech would still impact a jury in October.
But Chief Justice Lucy McCallum said a three-month stay in the case would allow for any concerns to be ameliorated.
