Update April 2020: Jessie J Wishes Ex Channing Tatum Happy Birthday

Despite reportedly recently calling time on their relationship once again at the start of April, Jessie J and Channing Tatum appear to be on good terms.

Over the weekend, the Step Up actor turned 40, and Jessie joined in with the chorus of 'happy birthday' messages on social media by sharing some personal photos of her ex partner.

Accompanying one image of Tatum in the sea - presumably taken when the former couple holidayed together - the Essex-born singer wrote a heartfelt caption: 'Happy Birthday to this special man right here. You are truly one of a kind. I am so grateful you were born and even more grateful we met.'

Update: After Reconciling, Channing Tatum And Jessie J Call Time On Relationship Again

After reconciling at the start of the year - where they made their red carpet debut too - Channing Tatum and Jessie J have reportedly called time on their relationship once again.

According to People, the couple split 'amicably' with a source saying: 'They cared enough about each other to try again but realised it was better to move on.'

The singer and actor were rumoured to have broken up after a year of dating in December, 2019.

But one month later, in January, the couple proved they were very much back together with a string of red carpet appearances including a pre-Grammys party and an afterparty.

On Instagram too, the couple confirmed they were together with each party posting a series of gushing photos about one another.

The former couple began dating at the start of 2019, months after Tatum announced his separation from Jenna Dewan after nine years of marriage. The couple - who are parents to six-year-old daughter Everly - finalised their divorce in January.

Last month, Dewan welcomed her first child with partner Steve Kazee, a son called Callum Michael Rebel Kazee.

Update: Channing Tatum And Jessie J 'End Relationship'

According to multiple reports, the Magic Mike actor and British singer have decided to end their relationship after more than a year of dating.

The former couple parted ways in October and remain friends, reports People.

'There wasn't any drama. They just decided to part ways and are still good friends,' a source told the magazine.

'Channing and Jessie have different priorities and focuses that don't really align,' another source told People. 'They had a fun relationship but it just didn't work out.'

In fact, proving that the two are on good terms, earlier this month before their split was reported Jessie commented on an Instagram post of Tatum with his new cohort of Australian Magic Mike dancers, writing: 'I wanted it to cut to you doing 'Pony' by the Sydney Opera House so badly Chan'.

Tatum replied jokingly, writing: 'Next time I'm in Sydney, I'll get it done.'

Though it was rumoured that Tatum had moved to London, the fact that Tatum needed to be in LA a lot to work and spend time with his daughter Everly while Jessie primarily resides in the UK was also reportedly a factor in their split.

The unlikely couple were first linked in October 2018 when they were spotted on a mini golf date.

It was the first public relationship for Tatum since his separation from wife of nine years, Jenna Dewan - who is currently expecting a child with Broadway star partner Steve Kazee.

In her recent book, Gracefully You, Dewan wrote candidly about being 'blindsided' when she first found out about Tatum's new relationship with Jessie J through a news report.

'I was learning things about my ex most people wouldn't have to face - and over the internet, as it was happening,' she wrote. 'There I was, on a plane alone, finding out about his new relationship. I felt blindsided.'

Original story 27/03/19: Channing Tatum Just Made His Relationship With Jessie J Instagram Official

Channing Tatum, dancer-turned-actor extraordinaire, just made his relationship with British singer Jessie J Instagram official.

Taking to the social media platform today, the 38-year-old Magic Mike star and father-of-one, posted a picture of Jessie J staring out of a window, with beams of light shining down onto her face.

In a rather unexpected move, Tatum wrote a detailed, flattering and candid caption, spelling out the nature of their relationship for a previously-left-guessing public:

'Wishing you the happiest day filled with all the love and all the light. You came into this world on this day and lit it on fire. You have blessed our eyes, our ears, our hearts and our lives. So thank you for just being you. You are so very special. Happy birthday Baby.'

Rumours have been circulating about the pair's romantic relationship since early in 2018, after he and former partner Jenna Dewan-Tatum announced they were planning to divorce.

In April of that year, both Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum released the same statement, explaining the nature of their split:

Since then, rumours of his link with Cornish-born 31-year-old Jessie J have spread like wildfire, with sources recently claiming that the relationship has become so serious that they might even have discussed marriage.

A source has now reportedly told New! magazine, 'Jessie and Channing’s relationship has been going from strength to strength lately, which has really taken their friends by surprise.'

'In fact, things have got so serious they’ve even discussed getting hitched, which isn’t too surprising when you consider that Channing is a really mature guy who knows exactly what he wants.'

Though people have mostly offered congratulations to the pair, or joined in wishing Jessie J a 'happy birthday,' there are some among the commenters and fans who have remarked on perceived similarities between Tatum's new romantic partner and his former wife.

One commenter wrote: 'Oh i got my hopes high thinking this is Jenna until i checked the tag...' while another echoed the thought, saying: 'At first i thought it was jenna...'

For those feeling sad though, be cheered by the both the fact that Jenna Dewan has apparently been well aware of this new relationship (source told E! all the way back in October that Jenna hadn't been surprised at all), but also that Dewan has herself moved on, after her marriage to Tatum.

Dewan is in a relationship with actor/performer Steve Kazee, who recently appeared in the stage version of Pretty Woman.

As long as all four people are happy and Tatum and Dewan's daughter Everly is catered for, everything's coming up roses from our perspective.
