Chinese New Year: No change in COVID safe management measures – MTF
SINGAPORE — Ahead of the Chinese New Year (CNY) festivities, the multi-ministry taskforce for COVID-19 has reminded Singaporeans to uphold the prevailing safe management measures to mitigate the impact of the Omicron wave on the society.
The permissible group size for social gatherings remains at five persons, and the maximum number of unique CNY visitors per household is five per day.
Individuals may also wish to take an antigen rapid test (ART) in advance of such gatherings, particularly if there will be elderly or unvaccinated family members present.
Prevailing rules at food-and-beverages establishments will continue to apply, including to reunion dinners or other CNY meals at these establishments. Social gatherings remain capped at five persons and multiple table bookings exceeding this are not permitted, except for those from the same household.
Large-scale events, including religious processions or dinner banquets (including company-organised meals or tuan bai) will continue to be disallowed to avoid superspreading events.
