As befitting one of the most glamorous evenings on television, Claudia Winkleman dazzled with her outfit for this year's finale of Strictly Come Dancing.

The presenter, 49, co-hosted last night's highly-anticipated BBC show – which saw Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice crowned the winners – in a sparkly, silver midi-dress.

In a post on Instagram, the star posed in the glittering one-shouldered frock, which featured a daring thigh-split, backstage against a bright red wall.

She paired the sequinned piece, which is from cult brand Self-Portrait, with a pair of nude suede heels by Gianvito Rossi

Fans on social media left more than 44,000 'likes' on her post, and praised the stunning ensemble she had selected to see off the series – with many of her famous friends also leaving words of praise.

Jemima Khan branded the look "gorgeous", while presenter Clara Amfo commented that it was "10/10" and radio host Zoe Ball told her she looked "insanely hot".

The 'Sequin Gathered Asymmetric Midi Dress', which costs £360 from the British label, also has an asymmetric neckline and fitted silhouette.

Meanwhile, Winkleman's beige pumps, from the Italian footwear designer, are priced at £560.

It is not the first time that Winkleman has stepped out in Self-Portrait to front Strictly this year.

At the start of the series, in early October, she wore a red puff-sleeve dress, costing £360, from the brand.

Then, for the Halloween special, the mother-of-three slipped on a black diamante playsuit, priced at £380.

Finally, earlier this month, she revealed that the label's founder had created a bespoke red sleeveless, sequinned midi-dress for her to wear.

Her co-star Tess Daly also puled out all the stops for her final look of the series.

The presenter, 52, wore a 1980s-style white gown by Alexandre Vauthier, costing £775, which featured a gathered waist, padded shoulders and batwing sleeves.

In a post on Instagram, she could be seen posing in the outfit, which was finished off with a pair of £890 gold metallic heels by Tom Ford, in the lift backstage at the show.

Lisa Snowdon, Katie Piper and Kimberley Walsh were among the stars to comment on the post, which has over 18,000 'likes'.
