Coldplay is still on a hot streak as the band gears up to drop a brand-new project later this year.

On Monday, June 17, band members Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion announced that their tenth studio album, Moon Music, is “landing” in stores and on streaming platforms on Oct. 4. The forthcoming 11-track LP, produced by collaborator and Swedish hitmaker Max Martin, will have limited hand-signed, eco-friendly vinyl editions available for fans to order via the band’s website.

Along with the new album — which is made from 100% recycled plastic bottles, per their continued sustainability efforts — Coldplay also revealed that their project’s first single, “feelslikeimfallinginlove,” will be released on Friday, June 21.

The band performed the song for the first time a day before their album announcement during their sold-out stadium show at Budapest’s Puskás Aréna.

It’s been nearly three years since Coldplay dropped their last album, 2021’s Music of the Spheres, which included their BTS-assisted global smash “My Universe.” The hit collaboration gave the iconic rock band its first No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 in 14 years.

Afterward, lead singer Martin, 47, began teasing Coldplay’s Moon Music, telling Toronto City News in January 2023 that they were in the process of “finishing up” the album, which was billed as the second part of the Music of the Spheres series.

“That won’t come out for a little bit,” the “Yellow” artist teased but added that the band “might start playing some songs” live at some point that year.

Coldplay is still in the midst of its years-long Music of the Spheres world tour, which continues in Budapest on Tuesday, June 18, until Nov. 16, when it finally wraps up in Auckland, New Zealand.

The band’s Live in Athens, Greece show on Saturday, June 8, was a star-studded event, as Joe Jonas, Liam Hemsworth, Kylie Minogue, Luke Evans and more were in attendance to see the band rock the stage. Evans posted footage of the group in the crowd waving their arms around on Instagram, with Jonas commenting, “What a night!”

That’s not the only live Coldplay performance that’s gotten some celebrity love recently. On Sunday, May 26, pop star Sabrina Carpenter joined the band onstage for a surprise appearance at BBC 1 Radio’s Big Weekend in England, where the two acts performed Coldplay’s 2014 track "Magic.”

"We’ve been playing this, one Big Weekend since we were basically children,” Martin told the crowd before bringing out Carpenter, 25, per a video shared on X. “And the reason we play one Big Weekend is because without Radio 1, we would never have kept our jobs.”
