A Russian collaborator was blown up in Berdyansk, Zaporizhzhya Oblast— he died of his injuries, the head of the Berdyansk City Military Administration, Victoria Halitsyna, said on May 5.

Updated at 3:18 p.m.: Ukraine's Defense Ministry's main intelligence department confirms the elimination of collaborator Yevhen Ananievskyi in Berdyansk.

Ananievskyi was an organizer of torture camps at Berdyansk Correctional Colony No. 77. His Ford Kuga exploded around 9:40 a.m. on May 5.

"As a result of the explosion, Yevhen Ananievskyi, involved in torturing Ukrainian prisoners, was eliminated," said Halitsyna.

Halitsyna stated the collaborator, an employee of the occupation correctional colony, was targeted by an explosive device placed under his car, resulting in his immediate death.

Meanwhile, the Russia's Investigative Committee announced initiating a criminal case for the "murder" of a correctional colony employee in Berdyansk. They stated an unknown person planted a homemade explosive under the car.
