Is this the comment that started the royal rift between Wills and Harry?

As the royal rift rumours continues to spiral out of control, with Prince Harry even caught on camera trying to dodge his brother, Prince William, on Easter Sunday, one author believes she knows what may have started it all.

Katie Nicholl, who wrote the books, Harry and Meghan, Harry and Kate, believes the separation between the brothers began when Prince William showed hesitation about Harry and Meghan’s relationship at the very beginning.

However, Prince Harry is said to have been left fuming with his older brother, despite marrying Meghan less than two years after they’re said to have met.

“William was concerned about how quickly the relationship had moved and wanted to make sure that Harry was making the right decision,” Katie Nicholl reportedly told Fox News.

“What was intended as well-meaning, brotherly concern and a bit of advice went down quite badly with Harry, who felt William wasn’t being as supportive as he might have been.”

“William is very protective of Harry,” Katie continued. He loves Harry — but their relationship was always going to change when Harry married.

Katie believes Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s move to Frogmore Cottage was a great move, as hopefully distance will help mend the rift between the pair.

She went on to say that William is now coming around to having Meghan as part of the family and is impressed by her strong ‘work ethic’.

Awkward Easter footage

However, judging by video footage from the Easter service at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor, things may still be frosty between the pair.

It shows the red-haired prince standing with his cousins Peter and Autumn Phillips, before greeting a minister with a handshake outside the church doors.

Close on his heels is Prince William, but instead of turning around to greet his brother, Harry moves awkwardly to the side and appears to pointedly distance himself.

While it may seem like things are awkward, a source revealed to ET that William and Harry are simply at “different stages in their life,” however many believe the pair’s fallout to be much more complicated.

Harry and Meghan’s move to Africa

Then, over the weekend it was reported that Prince William reportedly wants Harry and Meghan sent on a multi-year assignment to Africa in a bid to keep the spotlight firmly fixed on his own family.

The explosive claims follow reports the duke and duchess are being pegged for a ‘bespoke’ role on the continent.

And while a far flung gig would tie in neatly with the Sussex’s attempts to peddle themselves as global ambassadors for the Commonwealth, it appears the real reason behind it could be more sinister.

“In some ways it would suit William to get his brother out of the country for a few years and Meghan as far away as possible,” a friend of the princes told The Sunday Times.

“They sent them down to Frogmore to try and keep them out of the limelight for a bit (but) this is doomed to fail.

They are worried that Harry and Meghan are going to establish a totally separate enterprise that nobody can get under control.”

Hopefully the arrival of Baby Sussex will mend whatever’s going on a
