Following her exit announcement back in April, Coronation Street actress Faye Brookes is about to step in front of the ITV soap's camera for the very last time on Friday (July 19).

She's portrayed Kate Connor since 2015 and was involved with one of this year's biggest storylines: the Underworld roof collapse, which saw her on-screen wife Rana Habeeb fatally crushed by the debris.

As she bids farewell to her fellow cast members and the Corrie crew, we're sure plenty of tears will have been shed by the end of this week.

Faye shocked soap fans when she originally announced her exit, writing on Twitter: "Thanks to everyone for your amazing support, but after four fabulous years in Weatherfield, it's time for me to explore new opportunities.

"I've loved playing Kate Connor, but she needs a break for a little while and so with a song in my heart I'm off to pastures new."

Her final scenes are scheduled to air this autumn.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
