The Crown and Baby Reindeer among UK shows recognised with Emmy nominations - as Shogun and The Bear lead the way
Historical drama Shogun leads the way in this year's Emmy nominations, while The Crown and Baby Reindeer top the British entries.
Shogun, a story of a power struggle in feudal Japan, racked up 25 nominations to lead the contenders, followed by restaurant tale The Bear with 23 - a record for a comedy.
Netflix topped all networks with 107 nominations, including 18 for The Crown and 11 for Baby Reindeer.
The royal drama's final season aired in November and December last year in two parts, depicting the events surrounding Diana, Princess of Wales' death.
The show starred Dame Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II and Dominic West as Prince Charles, with both picking up nods for their roles.
Baby Reindeer writer Richard Gadd received nominations for outstanding lead actor in a limited series category, for his role as Donny, and for outstanding writing.
Gadd, whose character is stalked by a woman called Martha Scott, said the series is inspired by his real-life experiences.
Following the series' release, a woman called Fiona Harvey came forward claiming to be the person who inspired the character Martha.
She subsequently filed a lawsuit accusing Netflix of defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence, gross negligence, and violations of her right of publicity.
Elsewhere, Idris Elba received a nod in the lead actor in a drama series category for his role as Sam Nelson in Apple TV+ series Hijack, as did Gary Oldman for playing Jackson Lamb in Slow Horses.
