This is some big news to start your week off, Dani Harmer has announced that 15 years after the last series aired she is officially reprising her role as Tracy Beaker in a reboot set to land next year. And I bet you can't even read the name without singing the theme tune.

In an interview with The Sun on Sunday, Harmer confirmed that she would be returning to play the iconic character in a new show called My Mum Tracy Beaker, which will air next year and is based on Jacqueline Wilson's book of the same name.

The reboot of the iconic show will follow a now grown-up Tracy as she grapples with life as a single mum of 12-year old daughter Jess. Speaking about reprising the role Harmer said, "I can't wait to return again to the role of Tracy. I'm a fan myself and want to know what happens next and where this journey takes her. Being a mother, I know how much it changes you.

"So I'm looking forward to seeing how it has changed Tracy but still keeping her the same feisty, strong female lead that people know and love."

The official book synopsis says, "Jess thinks Tracy is the best mum ever, even when she shouts at her teachers! Yes, their flat’s a bit mouldy. It’s only just big enough for two. And the Duke Estate is a bit scary. But it’s their happy home.

"Until Sean Godfrey, Tracy’s rich boyfriend, whisks them away to his mansion, life of fast cars and celebrity stardom. Will Jess’s brilliant mum turn into a new person altogether?"

Just as long as Tracy isn't too much of a grown up to say "bog off", we're in.
